![]() ![]() The thing about X3TC is that it doesn't hold anything back. The best thing you can do is to link the mods you think you'd like and then ask for help installing them, if there are not clear installation instructions included in the mods thread. Also, many mods require that you start a new game in order for them to be active. Some require specific install instructions. Many mods require that you activate the scripts in-game. Modding X3TC is not as simple as copy/paste, all the time. (I tried to use script manager on windows and that too doesn't work, it says spk are not valid archives O.o). Does any one know of a way to open spk files and I will just copy paste files myself. All of them I need are spk and on Linux I can't open them. Worry about the storyline missions after you setted up in at least a Military transport: they can carry 4 fighters, have corvette shields and a good cargobay, and they cost about 400.000 credits each.Ĭarry a full-speed tunned kestrel plus your starter ship in one and you´re set for almost all missions. Split ships are fast and the Dragon is always a good starter corvette choice since X2. Autoaim is essential for most rapid fire weapons.Īlso, heavier weapons do more damage - don´t fight a m3 fighter armed with Plasma Burst Generators, those things can instakill corvettes (but gain access to a pirate factory selling those for your own ship and you are set for the rest of the game).ĭon´t think your lousy m3 will be your ship for the rest of the game - aim to get a military transport, then a corvette, then a Capital TP transporter, then a capital M7 ship, and finally a carrier. Fighters are easy to kill, but that includes you - use WASD keys to strafe from enemy fire. Just point out of there's anything wrong there )ĭepends on the ship you´re flying. ouch), what wepons you're using (ION Disrupters I've heard are good for frying enemy weapons), their shielding status and so on.Īnd yes, please use fight software mk2, it helps immensly -). Yes, the combat is diffcult at the start (and I haven't really done combat), but the result of combat is really dependant on what your fighting against, what ship you're using (M5 vs M3 would be difficult, and the first mission pits you against a variety of xenon ships. Just point out if there's anything wrong there OP Just don't damage it too much otherwise the pirates could down your new accuisition >.<. Secondly, I don't think hull damage to a newly capped ship is too much of a problem because of the free repair laser in your spacesuit :-). Later you could improve your rep with the other races if needed.ĭisclaimer: I haven't played much of the x-universe serries, much of what i'm going on is based upon what i've read from the egosoft you think that AL's guide for capping ships in x2 might be a good reference for capping in x3:tc, or has many of the weapons (specifically the ION blasters) changed from x2 to x3:tc? This is only really practical on silicon asteroids of yeild 40 and up.Ĭapping ships is a good way to begin, not only do you get a ship, but somtimes they have many nice goodies on board, and you can sell the ejected pilot as a slave. I somtimes add spaceweed or space fuel factories to make somthing to sell. I slowly get enough credits for a self-sustaining factory complex, silicon mine, solar power plant, crystal fab, food production etc, just need to jump start the process with some crystals, and it pretty much runs itself. ![]() I lay claim to their vessles and cargo in neutral space and then sell them in frendly shipyards. I usualy play the Bancrupt assassin mode and prey upon the paranid or boron and other pirates. speed sheilds and then lasers should be your priorities, as most of the enemies in the game can be outrun. ![]() get a jumpdrive early in the game, and possibly a transporter device. Those needeing advice, il say collect all the abandoned ships and take the guns if needed, then sell them, you will later have enough for a better vessel anyway. I always have auto aim (K) on, and classic flight mode on (shift-n) never had a prob in combat only when I bite off more than i can chew. ![]()
